Starting as a cadet journalist at this very newspaper, to covering some of the biggest events on the global sporting calendar, there wouldn’t be too many who have risen to the very top of their industry in the same way the voice of Australian basketball has.
Perfect Light Film Festival a shining success
The Perfect Light Film Festival returned to Sturt Park this year after being held in the Broken Hill Civic Centre for the last two years. The festival, brainchild of Australian acting legend Steve Bastoni, is in its sixth year, and was a huge success.
Cirque Mother Africa leaps on stage in May
After completing a sold-out season on Broadway, theatre production Cirque Mother Africa will be bringing its live show to Broken Hill with a performance scheduled for Friday, May 12 at the Civic Centre.

A tradition for over 60 years, the Royal Flying Doctor Service Women’s Auxiliary (RFDS WA) Broken Hill’s annual Flying Doctor Ball will be held on Friday, May 5 at the Broken Hill Civic Centre.
Record number of Foundation Training Grants
Foundation Broken Hill doubled the amount of funding for the Skillshare Training Program and have allocated a record number of grants for this year, with 10 people across a mix of trade apprenticeships, health and teaching studies ultimately awarded a $1000 grant each out of the $10,000 available.
