Tidy Towns back to the cemetery

Tidy Towns is heading back to the cemetery for a working bee to clear up the weeds at the Broken Hill Cemetery, so if you’d like to get involved in keeping a key piece of the city’s history tidy, get along on Saturday.

The TT group will provide all the equipment you need, including gloves, bags and tools. The group will even put on a sausage sizzle – all you need to bring is your community spirit, an eager attitude, and some safe footwear. You might want to bring a jacket too!

“Firstly, I want to compliment the people that have been there over the last couple of months, it’s a remarkable improvement, but we still need to do more,” Tidy Towns Chairman Dave Gallagher told the Truth.

“Come down Saturday, give us an hour, give us 10 minutes, give us half an hour, however long you can spare. There’s a nice sausage sizzle afterwards to enjoy. It’s an iconic place in Broken Hill, and we need people to come out to the cemetery and give the area a bit of a tidy up.”

Head to the Tidy Towns meeting point at the bus shelter at the cemetery from 8am Saturday.
