Spirit of Country photo competition

Hey happy snappers, if you’re aged under 16 it’s time to get your cameras out for this year’s Life and Light Photo Competition for a chance to win $1000.

Spirit of Country is the theme of this year’s Life and Light Photo Competition, which, “aims to help showcase our region from a range of different perspectives and display the many reasons why people love to reside in and visit the Western NSW outback”, says organisers.

Hosted by Western Landcare NSW and the NSW government, images must be taken in the Western Local Land Services region after January 1 (2023) and must also align with this year’s Spirit of Country theme.

Photographers have until Sunday March 31 to enter the following categories:

Open Colour – sponsored by Bourke Bowling Club

(for any image that doesn’t fit into the following categories).

Open Black & White – sponsored by Western Landcare NSW

Any black and white image.

Wool & Livestock – sponsored by Platinum Livestock

Any image relating to wool, livestock, and/or farming activities.

Nature in the Spotlight – sponsored by Monak Wine Co

Images containing flora and fauna in the western region.

Semi-Professional – sponsored by the Euston Club

Any image deemed as semi-professional (see competition rules).

Junior – sponsored by Far West Rural Supplies in Broken Hill

Photographers are to be aged 16 years and under by the competition close date, with all entries entered with a date of birth and the young person’s name.

People’s Choice – sponsored by the White Cliffs Hotel

All photos accepted into one of the above categories will be included in this category, with the winner determined by Likes (votes) on the Life and Light Photo Comp Facebook page at facebook.com/lifeandlightphotocomp
