Silver City Rideshare is a new rideshare service in Broken Hill boasting a 24/7 service. If you’re having trouble getting a taxi around town, there’s a new family owned and operated business to take you where you need to be.
Silver City Rideshare husband and wife team, Greg and Krisoula O’Neill have taken it upon themselves to help the Broken Hill community to get around town by turning their family van, once used to transport their large family, into a reliable rideshare service.
“A few times around Christmas and then again on New Year’s Eve our kids and their friends couldn’t get home from town. So, Krisoula and I decided that we’d turn our family vehicle into a rideshare so we could help people to get around the city,” said Mr O’Neill, proud owner of a very clean black 2014 Mercedes 8-seater people mover.
“I drive at night and Krisoula drives during the day so we’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. But it’s always best if people book so we can provide the most reliable service possible,” said Mr O’Neill. “There are currently no pickup and drop off zones for rideshare vehicles so we’re hoping council will create a few soon where they’re most needed.”
Silver City Rideshare is a registered point to point service licenced to operate 24hrs a day, seven days a week transporting up to seven passengers at a time.
Bookings are recommended for early morning and late-night rides to and from the Airport, Bus Terminal, and Railway Station or for appointments.
