Plugging the gap – new EV charge stations

South Australia’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network is growing, with sites at Burra and Yunta set to service motorists travelling between Broken Hill and Adelaide thanks to new Royal Automobile Association-branded Fast AC 7kW charging stations.

In parts of regional South Australia, the distance between EV charging points is greater than the average range of an EV battery (currently around 400km), so the construction of two charging stations along the Barrier Highway and RM Williams Way, with each destination between 150-200km apart, will be ideal for EV travellers.

Broken Hill has an NRMA EV charging station, at the Kintore Mine carpark off Beryl St, with other NRMA charging stations at Wilcannia and Mildura.
