RDAFW delivers new infrastructure

New buildings in Milparinka, Little Topar and Tibooburra have been financed by state government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund thanks to the work of Regional Development Australia Far West (RDAFW).

RDAFW ensured the unincorporated regions were not left out during the latest round of the New South Wales government funding by delivering four different buildings in four different locations.

In Little Topar, the campdraft grounds had a brand-new shower and toilet block installed, while at the Tibooburra sports grounds, toilets, and a viewing room where people can watch all the action was installed.

In Milparinka the gun club received a shower and toilet block, and disabled facilities were installed at the sports grounds.

“The Far West Regional Development is continually committed to providing assistance and support to the local Broken Hill community and the surrounding Far West region,” RDAFW Senior Project Officer Lindsay Wright told the Barrier Truth.

“The delivery of these toilet and shower blocks to the unincorporated regions will help and enable the recipient clubs to grow and expand their capacity to host more events.”

The Department of Regional NSW Stronger Country Communities Fund aims to develop communities in regional areas of NSW by providing or upgrading community programs as well as social and sporting infrastructure.

Using funds from this grant, RDAFW oversaw the entire process from manufacturing by Blue Sky through to installation which only took a couple of days.

“[The installation process] started on Tuesday at about 10am in Little Topar, then we went to Milparinka Sports Club, then the Gun Club.

“The next day we met them at Tibooburra Sports Club at 7am, dropped that one and they were gone by 8.30am.”

With these crucial facilities now installed, it is hoped that these locations can start generating funds from different events to invest in themselves.
