New Chief Executive at Far West Local Health District

Former Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) Acting Chief Executive Brad Astill rang in the New Year with a new job title – well, almost the same job title as it happens – he has been confirmed as the new permanent FWLHD Chief Executive.

The health service went through the usual interview process in the latter half of 2022 and back at the tail end of December FWLHD Board Member Wincen Cuy told us, “there’s been two rounds and from a briefing we’ve had, there are good quality applications, and we shouldn’t be too far away from some sort of announcement”.

Mr Astill had been acting CE since July 2022 and has.

He has held several roles within the Health Ministry, including Executive Director, System Performance Support within the Patient Experience and System Performance Division.

“The Board welcomes Brad’s appointment and looks forward to continuing to work with him, the LHD Executive and staff to deliver high quality healthcare for our communities,” said Chair of the FWLHD Board, Dr Andrew Refshauge.

Dr Refshauge praised Mr Astill for his demonstrated passion and leadership in patient care and system performance.
