Broken Hill’s Early Childhood Education Sector and Child and Family Services are joining together to provide a free and fun event at Sturt Park next Wednesday, October 26, from 9am to midday as part of National Children’s week which runs from October 22 to 30.
National Children’s Week is a national celebration of children’s rights, talents and citizenship and it’s held on the fourth Wednesday of October in Australia to coincide with Universal Children’s Day.
There is a specific them to every Children’s Week and this year the theme is all children have the right to a standard of living that supports their wellbeing and healthy development.
A whole host of activities showcasing a range of play-based experiences is on at Sturt Park on the Wednesday, including a play area for babies, Play-Doh, water play, art and craft activities, healthy eating tips, storytelling, sand play and threading.
There will also be service providers will be available on the day to provide parents with information on what’s available in the community and some inspiring play ideas to do at home.
