Life and Light Photo Competition underway

The popular Far West Photography Competition Life and Light is about to get underway again in its twenty-sixth year.

Run by Western Landcare NSW and Western Local Land Services, with funding from local businesses who are sponsoring the categories.

The geographical area covered is as far south as Wentworth, north to Bourke, and Broken Hill and Cobar in the east.

This is an opportunity for people across the region and from away to showcase the region and its beauty and unique characters.

Categories will include the ever-popular Peoples Choice, Open Colour, Open Black & White, plus a Junior category for the kids.

It is hoped this year there will be a water category as this has been a major focus of the rather wet year – organisers are still trying to secure a sponsor for this category.

Anyone can enter as long as the images are taken within the geographical boundaries of Far West Landcare NSW, and this year there will also be an effort to engage people who visited the area as tourists.

Another innovation for this year’s competition is the introduction of a semi-professional category.

The competition launches on March 13 and will remain open until May 7.

This year the presentation will be held online to make it easier for people to attend, as the entrants are spread across a large geographical area.

Information and entries are available at the website www.lifeandlight.com.au
