Winter School Holiday Activity Round-up

The July school holidays are almost upon us with Monday July 3 marking the official start date with children heading back to school on Monday July 17, but check as individual school dates may differ due to teacher training days.

We’ve pulled together a handy round-up of ideas for families across the Broken Hill region.

3D Printer Lessons (FREE) – Broken Hill City Library – 249 Blende St – 08 8080 3460

Although the 3D printing workshop has sold out, you can still learn all about 3D printing during your next visit to the library. Rhyme Time and Baby Bounce will continue through the holidays, with board games and books still a popular family activity available Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm, Friday from 10am to 5pm, and Saturday from 10am to 1pm.

Bells Milk Bar – 160 Patton St – 1300 466 565 – and Patton Park

An old school holiday must-do – take a step back in time with the kids, grab a milkshake at Bells Milk Bar and head across the road to relax on the lawn in Patton Park while they play in the safety of a fun, fully enclosed park containing barbeques and a playground.

Camel Rides and farm visit – Silverton Outback Camels – 1939 Silverton Rd, Silverton – 0428 602 664

Why not take the kids on a camel ride into the sunset over Silverton over the holidays, and if camels aren’t their thing, there’s a wide range of other animals they can visit, including donkeys, pigs, buffalo, emus or much cuter creatures like deer, lambs, goats, alpaca, dogs, and an array of birds living at the farm.
