International Women’s Day breakfast at The Astra

The Trinders In The Astra team will host Broken Hill’s 2024 International Women’s Day (IWD) breakfast with three special guest speakers sharing their unique stories with a venue full of women and girls from the Far West and beyond.

The 2024 IWD theme is, Count Her In: Invest in women. Accelerate progress.

IWD breakfast attendees are encouraged to wear the colour purple to show solidarity and support for domestic violence services across the region, including the main organisers of this event, Broken Hill Domestic Violence Committee, and the women and girls they help during challenging times.

With last year’s event a full house, Broken Hill Domestic Violence Committee President, Eleanor Blows, is encouraging people to pre-purchase tickets before they all sell out.

“Last year’s international women’s day breakfast was a wonderful way to meet and reconnect with many extraordinary women and girls from our community, so we’re very much looking forward to meeting more new faces at this year’s event,” said Ms Blows.

Tickets for the IWD event can now be pre-purchased from The Astra’s reception between 9am until 1pm weekdays, with groups invited to book a table to bond over breakfast.

Tickets cost $30 each, which includes a cooked breakfast, door prizes, and the opportunity to hear from special guest speakers, Lori Emmett, Lee Cechin, and Aimee Volkovsky.

This IWD event will take place at Trinders Restaurant within The Astra at 393 Argent St (Oxide St entrance) from 7am until 9am on Friday March 8.
