Ho, Ho, Ho, Santa Chats with the Barrier Truth

He’s got a big night ahead of him, but just before the man in the red suit climbed aboard his sleigh he managed to spare some time to exclusively chat with the Barrier Truth’s North Pole correspondent, Stuart Kavanagh.

Barrier Truth: Good evening, Santa Claus. It’s a pleasure to chat with you during such a busy period.

Santa Claus: Ho Ho Ho! Hello there! It’s my pleasure to be here.

BT: So, Mr Claus, it’s that time of year again. How are your preparations for the big night coming along?

Santa: Oh, we’re getting there. It’s a busy time of year for us up at the North Pole, as you can imagine. But we’re all working hard to make sure everything is ready for Christmas Eve.

BT: And can you confirm that you will have no troubles reaching Broken Hill this year?

Santa: Ho Ho Ho! I haven’t had any troubles in the past, so I don’t envision there being any this year. It is truly one of our favourite places to stop. For some reason the reindeer love the carrots all the kids leave out for them in Broken Hill.

BT: Can you tell us a bit about your workshop and how you and your team of elves go about making all the presents for children around the world?

Santa: Well, we have a very large workshop at the North Pole, and it’s filled with all sorts of different machines and tools that the elves use to make the presents. Each elf has their own special skill, whether it’s woodworking, toy-making, or something else. They work together to create all sorts of amazing gifts, from dolls and teddy bears to games and puzzles.

BT: That sounds like a lot of work. How do you and the elves manage to get everything done in time for Christmas?

Santa: We have a very efficient system in place. Preparations begin for Christmas well in advance, and the elves are very hardworking and dedicated. Plus, I have a little bit of magic up my sleeve that helps us get everything done on time.

BT: Can you tell us a bit about your magic?

Santa: Ho Ho Ho! I’m afraid I can’t give away all my secrets, but let’s just say that a little bit of Christmas magic goes a long way.

BT: I see. So, once all the presents are made, how do you and your reindeer go about delivering them to children around the world?

Santa: On Christmas Eve, we load up the sleigh with all the presents, and then I hop on with my trusty team of reindeer. We fly all around the world, visiting children and delivering presents to good boys and girls. It’s a long night, but it’s always worth it to see the joy on the faces of the children when they wake up on Christmas morning and find all their presents under the tree.

BT: That must be an incredible experience. Do you have a favourite part of the journey?

Santa: Oh, there are so many special moments. I love visiting all the different countries and cultures and seeing how they celebrate Christmas. And of course, seeing the joy on the children’s faces is always the highlight of the night for me.

BT: And what about the naughty list? How do you decide which children make it onto the naughty list and what kind of consequences do they face?

Santa: Ho Ho Ho! The naughty list is something we take very seriously up at the North Pole. We have a team of elves responsible for keeping track of the behaviour of children throughout the year. If a child has been particularly naughty, they might end up on the naughty list. As for consequences, we try to encourage good behaviour in a variety of ways. Sometimes a stern talking-to is enough to get a child back on the right track, but other times we might need to be a bit more creative.

BT: And what about the nice list? How do children end up on the nice list, and what kind of rewards do they receive?

Santa: The nice list is made up of all the children who have been good throughout the year. They are kind and considerate towards others, and they always try to do the right thing. These children are rewarded with special presents on Christmas morning.

BT: That sounds wonderful. So, Santa Claus, as we come to the end of our interview, is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers about your preparations for the big night?

Santa: Just that I’m looking forward to another magical Christmas Eve, and I hope all the children out there have a wonderful holiday season. Remember, it’s not about the presents or the decorations, but about spending time with loved ones and spreading joy and happiness to those around you. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

BT: Thank you so much for joining us, Santa Claus. It’s been a pleasure speaking with you. Just one final question – do you get much of a holiday after Christmas?

Santa: Oh yes, most of the year, as it happens. Merry Christmas to all!
