Paul Manera, the boy from Broken Hill who became a University of Hawaii offensive tackle and Australian gridiron legend, is heading back to the Silver City this March for a come and try day where kids in Broken Hill can come and experience flag gridiron – and it is totally free.

Bring It On Sports Director Paul Manera told the Barrier Truth “I am really honoured to be coming back to Broken Hill to work with the local community and teach them a new sport.

“I am excited to give people another option to get active and improve your mental health.”

Mr Manera, who was recently named as head coach of the NSW State Gridiron team, is heading to the Silver City to be inducted into the RDA Far West NSW Sporting Hall of Fame for his achievements as a Gridiron Player and Coach, as reported by the Barrier Truth.

Over the years, Paul has played a major role in developing the sport of Flag Gridiron in schools in the Sydney Metropolitan area working with people aged five years to adult. Paul has also coached at club, state, national and international level.

It is set to take place at the ET Lamb oval at 125 Boughtman St on the afternoon of March 2.

Registering to participate is as easy as clicking the link below. Mr Manera is also looking for some volunteers to help supervise the coaching sessions. You can register to volunteer at the same link.
