Final weeks heat up

Broken Hill Netball Association’s (BHNA) spring season has entered into its final two weeks of competition before the three-week finals series, with the next fortnight of fixtures proving many teams will still be vying for the best position to have a shot at lifting the trophy on November 28.

In the A Grade competition, it’s South who sits on top with 28 points, followed closely behind by Jesters with 25 points, with BHNA President Tori McManus telling us this season – and the A Grade competition especially – has been a great spectacle for fans and teams alike.

“There’s two rounds left before we head into our final rounds and our A Grade competition is actually quite close at the moment so that should be very interesting to see coming into finals,” she said.

“Generally, our A Grade Jesters team are always in our Grand Finals because they’re a very historic team name for the netball association. Now, having stronger teams like West Flames Back and South Women’s going up against Jesters makes a good competition. They’ve got a really good challenge, which is great to see for our competition.”

Round 11 takes place on Tuesday, October 31 where the association will celebrate Halloween Round – a yearly tradition that this year just so happens to fall on the specific date.

“We’ll have all the kids, and adults are more than welcome to dress up as well. Our designated rounds, we normally do every year. Halloween is just something fun for the kids – they like to dress up in tutus and run around the netball court!”
