Central controls West as North remain undefeated

Round Four of the AFL Broken Hill Women’s competition concluded with North remaining undefeated and Central securing a big win against West.

CENTRAL V WEST

At Memorial Oval, Central dominated the entire match, sealing a 70-point victory. West managed to score for the first time this season, albeit with a solitary point.

Central controlled the game from the start, converting their inside 50s into scoring shots consistently throughout the four quarters. However, they could have had a larger margin if some shots had found the mark.

The Robins finally got on the scoreboard in the third quarter with a behind, while Ashleigh Forbes and Nikki Phillips led the charge for Central with three goals each.

NORTH V SOUTH

North continued their unbeaten streak at the top of the ladder with a convincing 18-point win over South at Jubilee Oval. The margin was less than 10 points at the first change, as South put up a close contest in the opening term.

Despite both teams going goalless in the second half, North managed to secure a two-goal advantage, ultimately leading to the final result. South had opportunities in the final quarter but only managed to score four behinds, unable to close the gap.

Seven different players kicked goals in the match, with Brooklyn Gibson adding another goal to her season tally of nine for North, and South captain Abbey Stevens scoring her first major of the campaign.
