AFL Broken Hill Official Season Launch

AFL Broken Hill

It was a huge weekend for AFL Broken Hill, with the official season launch taking place in the showroom of major sponsors Broken Hill Toyota. The event was attended by a who’s who of Broken Hill sporting personalities, business titans and councillors.

AFL Broken Hill President, Andrew Schmidt, used his address to welcome and thank the local Toyota dealership for coming on board as a major sponsor.

“It’s terrific for our game in Broken Hill to be associated with a major national brand who supports football not only at a national level but now at a regional level too,” said Mr Schmidt.

He thanked the City Council who have helped with the construction of new changerooms, and the brand-new lights, at Alma Oval. The Council also provided the competition with a post-Covid recovery package worth $20,000.

“The relationship between AFL Broken Hill and Council has never been stronger. To Tom, Michael, Jay and all our councillors we say thank you,” said Mr Schmidt.

He also acknowledged David Burgess from AFL NSW/ACT, who was also at the season launch, and will be the number one contact for the league within the AFL.

As is tradition at this event every year, the number one ticket holder was announced, and this year it went to Central stalwart, Mark Ralph.

The AFL Broken Hill season is just a couple of weeks away from starting its regular season, the regular season, which begins on ANZAC Day this year with West taking on Central, before North clashes with South the following Saturday.
