Community members are invited to participate in a golf competition this weekend to raise funds for a local cause.
The Legacy branch will host the annual charity event at the Broken Hill Golf and Country Club on Sunday to support local widows.
Legacy Secretary, Mark Winen, is hoping for a big turnout and said the “more the merrier.”
“Hopefully it’s well patronised now that we are out of COVID and people can come,” he said.
“We are looking for anywhere between ninety to one-hundred golfers to make a good day of it – we usually get a good rollup.”
Lat year’s Charity Golf Day saw about 86 players compete and raise funds for the organisation.
Proceeds from the event go towards purchasing equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs and others supports like handrails and ramps.
“All our funds on this day go to the legacy widows for their wellbeing,” Mr Winen said. “We do that to keep them safe in their homes.”
The event will be a four person Ambrose and will cost $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
“You don’t need to have a handicap to play,” Mr Winen said. “They’ll work you in a group if you only got a couple.”
There will be raffles on the day and prizes for nearest to pins, longest drive and winner on the stick or nett.
Refreshments and a barbecue (BBQ) will also be held on the 16th hole.

Legacy will host a shoot and its annual Badge Day later this year.
