For the second time, 2DRYFM has won the South Australian Community Broadcasters Association’s (SACBA) Bibly Award for Best Outside Broadcast for their live coverage from the 2022 Broken Heel Festival. The community radio station also won the award in 2019.
Hosted by Station Manager Megan Williams, along with Melbourne’s JOY Media, the 2022 event saw the broadcast van set up on Argent St to cover the day’s festivities, including performances from renowned drag artists and the main street parade.
“Last year’s outside broadcast from the Broken Heel Parade was shared around the country by the national Community Radio Network,” Mx Williams told the Barrier Truth.
“JOY Media came up from Melbourne to co-host with us. It was our first live national broadcast, so it settled some nerves to have their experience with us on the day!”
