Badger Bates Barka Tribute in Australian Museum
A Badger Bates art exhibition which originally opened at the Broken Hill City Art Gallery back in 2018, has since travelled throughout Australia, and has now reached the national stage.

Man Swindled Out of Nearly $10,000 in St Pats Scam
Justin Meyers, from Mordialloc in Victoria, was looking forward to celebrating St Pats Race Day with friends this year at the Gary Radford Pavilion. But his plans were derailed after falling victim to an invoice scam which has cost him and his group more than $9000.
8-Ball season starts on a roll
Thursday evening saw the first breaks of a 28-round 8-Ball season through the local pubs and clubs of Broken Hill for Division 2 and 3 players. Division 1 players begin their season in a couple of weeks’ time.

The 2022 NAPLAN results have been released, and it’s grave viewing for a majority of the schools in Broken Hill, compared to the Australian and NSW average.
Edwards wins NSW Woman of the Year
CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes board member, Lynda Edwards, has been named the 2023 NSW Premier’s Woman of the Year at the NSW Women of the Year Awards, held in Sydney. Ms Edwards was also named NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year.
