Yunta Gymkhana at New Venue

The new Yunta Race Club will be ready to go for the Yunta Gymkhana and Sprint Carnival on April 30th.

The Yunta Club have taken advantage of the downtime during the COVID-19 pandemic to build the new facilities.

“This amazing new building could not have been achieved to such a high standard without the generosity of the tradies who have donated all or much of their time. Thank you to all those kind folk including:

Paul Smulders (batching plant), Rocco & Cosi (tilers), James Denley & co (concreting), Jake, Nathan, Claire etc of Duthy Homes, Todd Casey, Mick Parker (cement truck), Brad Semmler (cool-rooms), Trevor Clarke (electronics) – and all others who have donated their time and talents,” Yunta Race Club Facebook.

The Yunta Race Club has managed to receive a whopping 40 sponsors to support the 31-day event.

There will be something for everyone from the 7-year-olds up to enter and of course, everyone to enjoy.

Events start the day with Walk and Trot Lead for the under 11s, the Walk, Trot, Gallop for the over 16s, The Texas Barrel, The Double Texas Barrel and Thread the Needle for the over 16’s.

There is also the Gymkhana Sprint for the over 18s with a $300 first prize and there are three Bush Sprints for the over 18’s with a $400 first prize in each event.

There will also be classic fun events such as Nail Driving, Children’s Racing and Guess the Weight.
