A 28-year-old woman will face Wilcannia local court today charged with three offences as investigations continue into a stabbing in Broken Hill on Tuesday.
At 11pm on Tuesday, police were called to a home on Wolfram Street after reports of a domestic-related incident involving two men known to each other.
A 37-year-old man was taken to Broken Hill Hospital before he was airlifted to Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of a stab wound, where he remains in a critical condition.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District established a crime scene and investigations continue.
Following inquiries, at 1.30am yesterday – Wednesday – officers stopped at a service station on Williams St and spoke with a woman who was then arrested and taken to Broken Hill Police Station.
She was charged with being an accessory after the fact to wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm; hinder investigation serious indictable offence of other; and conceal serious indictable offence.
The woman was refused bail and will appear at Wilcannia local court today – Thursday.
