WEST V SOUTH
This should be a cracking game at Jubilee Oval.
Last week South had their play makers out in Caldwell, Turner, Holmes and Wesley. All four are very important players who do make a difference in and around the ball.
West, I’m really not sure, but I think Ruddock will be back as well as Crozier. It’s really hard to predict the outcome when there are different personnel in and out but I will have a crack.
My spies inform me Cody Schorn won’t be playing, and depending on which personnel both teams get back, there could be a decisive outcome for one of the two teams.
Both teams are at different stages of their development as South will be trying to get all their ducks in a row, so to speak, in order to prepare for the upcoming grand final, while West will be continuing to find their best team position-wise in order for the much anticipated prelim final against the Dogs.
So, whichever way you look at it both teams will be out to win today. West will need to throw everything at the Roos as they are the hunters but the Roos stand strong and they love a challenge.
I think this game should be a close contest but South have really put their foot down on the last two occasions they have played the Robins and even with Cody Schorn out I just can’t go past the Roos.
West should give a good account of themselves but for me Roos win by six goals.
NORTH V CENTRAL
This clash is at Memorial Oval and it’s Maggie’s old timers weekend so Central will be throwing everything they can against the Dogs to try and score their first win for the season.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the big Deckardt today. Both Deckardt and Wilson can be a very dangerous prospect.
The Dogs will make nine changes from their game against the Roos last week. North will be looking to get that connection and continuity going prior to the pre lim final against the Robins whilst the Maggies will be doing everything in their power to get a win at home. But for me the Dogs can’t drop this one as it’s crucial in their preparations for the upcoming final.
I think Central will see themselves as a real chance today and they very well may be in this contest. But on the Dog’s form I can’t go past them. It will be a tough contest today but I’m going with the Dogs by five goals.
Enjoy the footy everyone.
