Lately, the Tilpa Pub has had some wet and wild moments, with mail being delivered by helicopter and fish swimming past the pub.
The town was inundated with water with the recent flood and all roads were cut off.
Nick White, who works at the pub, said they had carp swimming out the front of the pub.
He said we didn’t run out of food, we had enough supplies and the mail was brought in by helicopter.
“The river has dropped down to 5 metres now and people are starting to come back,” Mr White said.
The flood in Tilpa peaked at 12.5 metres and has dropped by over seven metres now.
Mr White said visitors are coming to Tilpa on 52 Mile Road, which is off the Barrier Highway about 80kms west of Cobar.
Cobar Shire spokesperson said the road is open with caution but as always, check road conditions before travelling.
