This Saturday, September 24, at 9am the Tidy Town team will be back doing what they do best — hosting a clean-up event. This time the location will be at the Picnic Train Ambush Site.

Tidy Towns Working Group Chair, Councillor Dave Gallagher, is a man who is passionate about keeping the town beautiful and has urged locals to get involved.

“The Tidy Towns volunteers are a wonderful and committed group, and new members are always welcome,” Cllr Gallagher said.

“The weather is finally starting to warm up and these events will be a great way to enjoy some fresh air, get some exercise, meet new people, and help clean up important sites around our great city.”

The Picnic Train Ambush Site can be found by heading west on Morgan St to the outskirts of the city. All cleaning equipment is provided however it is recommended that volunteers bring their own water bottles, gloves, and a hat.

A free BBQ will be provided for volunteers when the clean-up is completed.

The group has several other significant locations in mind for future clean ups, with White Rocks and the Broken Hill Cemetery chief amongst them.
