2DRY FM is inviting Broken Hills culinary masters to show us your chops for this weekend’s 2023 Cheeseslaw World Championships!
Reigning champion Sophie Angell will be defending her title and attempting to take home another coveted golden grater!
But challengers be warned, this local take’s pride in her town and her slaw “there’s as much cheeseslaw in my veins as there is lead” Sophie Angell.
For the bold, there’s two categories: Traditional (3 ingredients) and alternative (entries must display character of cheeseslaw) judged by expert panel.
Entries are $5 per plate, and votes for the people’s choice are a gold coin donation. All funds raised will be added to the final Radiothon tally, which currently sits at $4,580 raised for the community radio station.
Entries must be in by 11am at the community markets at 200 Beryl Street this Saturday. Prizes include $50 vouchers for the Old Salt Bush, movie tickets at the Silver
City Cinema and of course for the piece de resistance, the Golden Grater. The whole event will be broadcast on 107.7 2DRY FM,
There’ll be cooked chook and bread available for tastings until they run out!
