The Barwon Darling is full to overflowing

The Barwon Darling is flooding from Mungindi down due to early seasonal rains.

Mungindi on the Queensland border has already had major flooding as has Mogil Mogil.

Collarenebri had minor flooding over the weekend and the water is now heading to Walgett where minor flooding is expected and possible moderate flooding this week.

Moderate flooding is likely along the river from Brewarrina around December 21st-23rd. The level in Brewarrina appears to increase by 20cms a day.

Bourke has passed the minor flood level of 9.3 and is now 9.55 metres. The river at Bourke also appears to be increasing by 20cms a day. The Bureau of meteorology reports Bourke may reach 12.2 metres by the beginning of January.

Minor flooding is expected at Louth this week, the river may reach 12 metres by the second week of January.

Minor flooding is expected at Tilpa in the last week of December and possible major flooding by the third week of January.

Wilcannia may have minor flooding in the middle of January, and early February may see moderate flooding in the town.

The last flood on the Barwon Darling River occurred in 2012.

Biggest floods in living memory occurred in 1988 and 1972 when water was waist deep on the upper bank of Block Dam.
