Red & White Ball set to roll

Hot on the heels of the ultra-successful Debutante Ball, the South Football Club is at it again with their annual Red and White Ball, taking place this year at The Old Brewery, next Saturday, June 17.

One of the organisers Leanne Bird told us, “we had around 450 people attend the Deb Ball and the beautiful debutantes and the dashing squires were incredible, dancing perfectly to the inimitable Gemma Murray’s choreography.

“It couldn’t have happened without our volunteers. The work they did, unpaid, just to benefit the club was amazing. I really want to extend a heartfelt thanks to them.”

In contrast, the upcoming Red and White Ball will be an opportunity for people to kick back and relax, with no volunteer work required.

“We have arranged it so that our volunteers can go to it and not have to worry about any of the organisation on the night,” Ms Bird says.

The Old Brewery is a new location for the event, which has previously been held at the Civic Centre, amongst other locations.

“This year it’s going to be a cocktail themed, so that is something new, so we really hope it is successful and that we can have it at The Old Brewery all the time.

The food provided, it is advertised as a supper, will be supplied by The Old Brewery. Ms Bird tells us, “what Brendan [Brendan Barlow, owner of The Old Brewery] does with his food is exceptional”.

“DJ Ash is coming down from Mildura to provide the musical entertainment. It should be a great night.”

Tickets are $80, which includes supper, and you can get your ticket from the South Football Club for what promises to be a fantastic night. The Old Brewery is at 81 Buck St and the event kicks off at 6.30pm on June 17.
