If you’ve ever wanted to play cricket, South Broken Hill Cricket Club is looking for new players as they plan for the upcoming season.

A well attended Annual General Meeting just held at the Barrier Social Democratic Club marked the beginning of planning for the upcoming 2022/23 cricket season for the South Broken Hill Cricket Club.

President Ben Franklyn and Secretary/Treasurer Peter Johnston both said they were optimistic for the coming season and confident the club can improve on its playing list and become a more competitive force across all grades.

New players will be made very welcome at the club and can call either 0408 621 298 or 0448 323 472 to introduce themselves. Official club training begins at the Burke Ward cricket nets in Rakow Street at 5pm on Tuesday September 27, with training nights every Tuesday and Thursday.

The new cricket season kicks off on October 15, with a round of 40 over games in A Grade, 30 over games in B Grade and 20/20 cricket for the Women’s Competition.

Broken Hill representative sides for A Grade, B Grade and Women will travel to Red Cliffs in the Sunraysia on Saturday, October 29. There will be no local competition on that weekend.
