Small grants program now open

By Dylan J. Stone

Not-for-profit and community-based organisations which have insurance policies through the Community Underwriting Agency are being urged to check whether they are eligible for the 2022 Small Grants Program.

Community Underwriting allocates 5.0% of their annual surplus to a small grants pool for clients who renew their insurance.

Furthermore, insurer partners contribute additional funds to the pool, which increases the amount of funding available to applicants for this grant.

The purpose of the grant, according to a spokesperson from Community Underwriting, is to “enable us to reinvest our client’s insurance dollars back into the sector every year”.

Fifteen grants of up to $5000, 10 grants of up to $4000, 10 grants up to $2000, five grants up to $1000, plus ‘other small discretionary grants’ are available.

Applications opened on October 6 and will close on November 7.

More than 265 grants have been awarded since the program began in 2014.

For more information on the grant program, or to confirm your organisation’s eligibility, contact the Community Underwriting Team on 02 8045 2580, or by email at [email protected]
