One of Silverton’s biggest characters is taking his Emu Tent to the Mundi Mundi Bash to set up shop there for four days.

John Dynan said he’s been preparing for months for the Bash.

“I’ve been doing paintings and ordering in extra tourist items like stubby holders to prepare for my time at the Bash,” he said.

Mr Dynan said he will be the Emu Man with his brightly decorated tent and will be located in the art precinct at the festival.

Other art groups from Broken Hill will also be attending to sell their wares to the massing throngs of festival-goers, hopefully making up for the sales lost over the past two years of COVID.

He said he thought he was the only one from the Silverton Galleries that will be going there.

The Jason Cowz Ghost Town Art Gallery will be staying in Silverton for the festival and are looking forward to the Easter rush, which they say for them has always been the busiest time of the year.

The Silverton Pub will be manning all stations as they have advertised through Facebook for more staff to help with the Bash and Mr Price said not one person responded.

Always a great tourist spot any time of the year, Silverton will possibly be overrun during the Bash with the 10,000 people passing through.
