Swimmers are winners

Broken Hill’s Silver City Swim Club have been awarded second place and $3500 in this year’s Essential Energy Community Choices Champions awards for Far West NSW.

The awards are handed out based on public nominations cast by almost 170,000 votes.

This year EE increased funding to a total of $250,000 to be shared between eligible groups across 20 zones throughout their network footprint. This meant $5000 was available to groups with the most votes in their region, and amounts for second and third place were also increased to $3500 and $2750 respectively.

Groups from small communities with populations less than 10,000 were also again able to nominate and get their community voting to help them access $1250 funding for the group with the most votes.
