Search continues for four missing people travelling from QLD to NSW

A large-scale search is continuing today to locate four people who have been reported missing in the Far West NSW.

Darian Aspinall, aged 27, her children – Winter Bellamy, aged two and Koda Bellamy, aged four – their grandmother – Leah Gooding, aged 50 – left Noccundra Hotel on Warry Gate Road in Queensland between 12.30pm and 3pm on Sunday, 7 August 2022.

Their intended destination was accommodation in Packsaddle, a remote township in Far West NSW, which police have been told was a stop on their intended journey to Adelaide.

They were reported missing to officers from Barrier Police District after they did not arrive at the destination and could not be contacted.

As part of inquiries, police are conducting a major land search across Tibooburra, Broken Hill, Wilcannia, Packsaddle and surrounds, with assistance from the Missing Persons Registry, Queensland and South Australia Police.

As the search continues, police are urging anyone who may have seen the family or vehicle it is believed they are travelling in – a charcoal Hyundai Tucson with Queensland Registration 729CV2 – or anyone who may have any information about their whereabouts to come forwards.

They are all described as being of Caucasian appearance. Darian has dark brown hair, tattoos on her right arm and wears glasses. The children have brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
