Perfect Light Film Festival returning soon

Broken Hill is again gearing up to host the Perfect Light Film Festival (PLFF) when it returns to Sturt Park next month. With free entry, folks are invited to rock up to enjoy live music while strolling around the many market stalls, grabbing a feed or a beverage before kicking back on a blanket or favourite fold out chair to share a range of outdoor short film screenings with family, friends, and the Silver City community.

The Perfect Light Film Festival runs from Friday March 22 until Sunday March 24.

Friday March 22

FLFF Festival Launch will take place from 6:45pm at the Silver City Cinema at 49 Oxide St with a free screening of feature film Wog Boys Forever followed by a Q&A.

Saturday March 23

FLFF Free Short Film Festival opens at 6pm until 10pm in Sturt Park on Sulphide St. Food and beverages will be available alongside a range of market stalls.

A list of 12 short films will be screened from 7pm with each film judged live by a panel of celebrity judges on the night. First prize is $1000 cash, with second prize receiving $500 cash and third prize a nice $250 cash, with the lucky winner of the Emerging Filmmaker Award taking home $500 cash.

A warning to parents that some films are unclassified, and some are suited to a 15+ audience. This is a no BYO alcohol event.

Sunday March 24

FLFF Free Filmmaking Workshop will be held between 10am to 2pm at the Civic Centre at 31 Chloride St.

To register for this workshop, email [email protected] with your name, mobile number, and email address. Places are limited.
