Good news – NSW TrainLink bus routes from Broken Hill to Mildura and Adelaide have been made permanent following successful trial periods.
The coach links between Broken Hill and Adelaide, and Broken Hill and Mildura, have been running since June 2019 as a twice-weekly service, with the decision to continue the services based on numbers using the services, customer feedback, and a wider social benefit.
“Over the past four years, the connections provided by these trial coach services have been vital for our customers and the wider community,” Transport for NSW COO for Customer Experience, Rob Chaseling, said.
“We are pleased these two services will continue in an ongoing basis from July, ensuring Broken Hill and other rural and remote communities have public transport connections to major service centres.
“Making these coach services permanent has a range of benefits such as supporting and enhancing tourism, creating new economic opportunities and improving access to education, health care and other transport modes.”
The Broken Hill to Adelaide service operates on Mondays and Fridays (leaving Broken Hill Town Coach Stop at 7am and arriving at Central Bus Station at 1.45pm), returning on Tuesdays and Sundays (leaving Central Bus Station at 12.15pm and arriving at Broken Hill Town Coach Stop at 6.45pm).
The Broken Hill to Mildura service runs on Wednesdays and Fridays (leaving Broken Hill Town Coach Stop at 6.15am and arriving at Mildura Station Coach Stop at 10.30am), returning the same day (leaving Mildura Station Coach Stop at 4.15pm and arriving at Broken Hill Town Coach Stop at 7.30pm). All times are local.
