NSW Police has confirmed its new station in Broken Hill is on track to be competed by the end of the year.

Work on the external structure is now complete with the internal fit out already underway and reportedly “progressing well.”

The new cop shop is being built at 80 Blende Street.

The redevelopment is part of the Multipurpose Police Station Program funded through the NSW Government’s 2018/19 budget commitment.

Specialist forensics staff and equipment and traffic/highway patrol police will join general duties policing and the Crime Prevention Unit at the precinct.

Barrier Police District command staff will also be accommodated in the new police station.
