Mission Australia will join other Broken Hill support services to host a community event in Sturt Park from 2:30pm to 4:30pm on Monday September 11 to celebrate National Child Protection Week – September 3 to 9 – with this year’s theme, Where we stand matters.
With activities for the whole family, free activities will include a barbeque, laser tag, live entertainment, face painting, craft activities, inflatable and interactive games, information stalls and more.
Information about the local services and supports that families can access will also be available on the day.
Mission Australia Program Manager, Gina Dellar, says they’re pleased to be able to join with local services to put on a fun day in the park for children and their families to relax, creating good memories, while finding out about the various services available to help protect children.
“National Child Protection Week is a great opportunity for local services and the community to come together to promote and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people,” said Ms Della. “We all have a part to play in giving families the support they need to navigate life’s choppy waters.”
Families with children of all ages are welcome to attend. For more information, call Mission Australia on 8084 3700.
