Mr. Barrett still at it

Clark Barrett spends his nights in the streets making art

IF you see a man at night, at a fold up table staring at the Post office it’s ok it’s just local artist Clark Barrett, recapturing one of his most amazing paintings.

“A client saw this painting and asked if I could do another for them so here I am,” Mr Barrett explained.

Mr Barrett has scoured the Far West for the right light and colour to create his unique outback art.

“I love getting outdoors and painting en plein aire,” he said.

Mr Barrett, has been painting the images around Broken Hill since 1975 when he fell in love with the town and its Vibrant colours.

He began teaching at Broken Hill High School in 1975 and has positively influenced many young aspiring artists for generations. He also taught many in his night classes at Robinson College.
