Melodic Evenings Await

Broken Hill City Art Gallery is hosting a specially curated program featuring the sounds of the violin and piano this weekend, as part of a West Darling Arts-sponsored tour across the Silver City, White Cliffs, and Pooncarie.

In an evening of romantic music with internationally acclaimed violinist Jonathon Glonek and guest virtuoso pianist Nicky Poznan, covering works by Kreisler, Heifetz, and Wieniawski, Saturday night is set to be a night to remember.

A gifted violinist and a serious performer since the age of 12, Mr. Glonek has performed solo throughout Europe, the United States, Southeast Asia, and around Australia, bringing serious classical repertoire to novice audiences in the belief that the genre can be a valuable experience for listeners across all demographics.

The Silver City performance is part of a nationwide, regional, and rural tour to perform music that Mr. Glonek says is not often heard in the cities. “I’m always thrilled by the reception the work receives. Classical music is a great gift to everyone, but there are not that many opportunities to hear it out in the bush,” says Mr. Glonek.

To catch the performance, head to the Broken Hill City Art Gallery at 404-408 Argent Street this Saturday, November 11, at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased for $30, with attendees under 18 admitted free, by going to www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1135633.
