Local school COVID-19 alert

A COVID -19 alert has been announced to parents and workers of Broken Hill North Public School by text.

A mother of a Broken Hill North Public School student said “I’m not happy with the text. It would be nice if they let us know when and what class the student, worker or person was in and what day they were there.”

NSW Health has advised that all staff and students of Broken Hill North Public School are asked to self-isolate as a precaution whilst they complete contact tracing.

NSW Health defines self-isolation as staying at your home or accommodation and remaining separated from others. You can only leave to get medical care (such as a COVID-19 test) or in an emergency. You cannot have visitors.

Once the contact tracing is complete those who need to continue to self-isolate will be notified according to NSW Health.

NSW Health said anyone who develops symptoms such as cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, vomiting or extreme tiredness should attend a COVID -19 clinic.
