Little Bulls score big

IT’S GAME ON – Broken Hill Basketball Stadium on South St came alive yesterday with basketball season kicking off and competitions underway, but the Little Bulls under 12s basketball team have already scored a win, receiving new uniforms donated by Bells Milk Bar owner, Matt Spresser, plus lunch on Sunday.

“I like to support kids’ sports, so Bells has sponsored a local under 12 team – the Little Bulls,” Matt told the Barrier Truth on Sunday.

“I invited them all to the shop for lunch and presented them with their team uniforms and training jerseys. They’re a great bunch of diverse kids who just want to have fun and we’re really happy to support the team.”

The Broken Hill Basketball Association (BHBA) is struggling to attract umpires for various competitions and are calling on all former players, and even people who have never played a game in their life, to get in touch via the Broken Hill Basketball Association public group on Facebook.

Umpire Coordinator, Jenna Coombes, says she’ll teach you everything you need to know, so give her a call on 0488 962 237 to find out more, or visit the Facebook page here.
