Lions arrange for Mobile Skin Cancer Unit visit

The Lions Club are famous for the work they do for the community in Broken Hill, and they are at it again this coming September, arranging for the Mobile Skin Cancer Unit [MSCU] to visit Broken Hill.

The MSCU offers free skin cancer checks. Something that is invaluable considering Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world.

It will be the first time the Unit has visited Broken Hill in four years.

The Lions club has a very regimented system for booking a test with the MSC. You must book on the September 6 or 7 at the Westside Plaza car ticket sales point.

Tests will take place on the weekend beginning September 18.

Pending Council approval, the testing van will be parked opposite the Trades Hall on Sulphide Street.

Australia records more than four times the amount of skin cancer cases than the United States and Canada combined.

Two out of every three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they reach their 70s. So, get out there and get checked for your own wellbeing.
