A new school year brings fresh faces from the bush at School of the Air.

This week saw the kindies and preschool start their education journey and it seems everything went well.

Kindergarten enjoyed meeting each other and their teachers; Ms Baldwin and Ms Black.

It was the first year of big school for the kindies and they will now start learning on the internet.

Many of the kindies had met during preschool, which the School of the Air (SOTA) teach through distance education.

At the beginning of the year, the preschool students receive a school package, and they are taught at home or with their ‘govies’ (governesses) or homeschoolers.

They do storytime with their teacher over the internet and come into town to attend lessons at Bugdlie.

They were there this week and had enormous fun meeting each other and their teacher.

They painted pictures, iced biscuits and played in the sandpit with great delight.

School of the Air also held their 2021 swimming carnival.

The students will be back later this term to do it all again for their 2022 swimming carnival.
