Jahayla’s Journey: Community’s Role

Last month, we brought you the story of Broken Hill basketballer Jahayla Knott being selected to the SA Country Basketball Under 16 Girls Emerging Athlete Development Program (EADP). Now, Jahayla is seeking donations to help her on her way!

As well as cash donations from members of the community, businesses in town such as Globe Mitre 10, Impact Gym, and The Lollipop Tree have donated goods or vouchers for a raffle. A sausage sizzle will also be held outside Foodland in the new year, prior to Jahayla’s trip.

“I’m grateful for these opportunities I am now able to have. I’m very lucky and excited. I appreciate the efforts and support of the Broken Hill community and families”, Jahayla told the Barrier Truth.

To donate any amount big or small – or to donate towards the raffle prizes –, contact Cindy Knott on 0411 149 727 or Merridy Wall on 0402 145 869.
