It’s time to have your say

Roy Butler

The Regional Development Act 2004 is up for review and State MP for Barwon, Roy Butler, is asking, “How does that affect you?”

The review will determine the priorities for future funding in regional communities so the NSW government has created an online survey that closes on January 31 where people can provide feedback that will help to inform the review.

Mr Butler says the review effects every person living in regional NSW and is urging people to fill it in and share with friends and family.

“I’ll be providing a survey response, as well as direct submissions to the Minister,” said Mr Butler on his Facebook page this week. “Below are a few objectives being put forward by the Minister for Regional NSW to get you started:

  • focus on ecologically sustainable development
  • providing equal access to quality essential services
  • support for diversification, adaptation and resilience of regional economies
  • providing economic opportunities for disadvantaged regional communities
  • improving living standards, service delivery and quality of life in regional communities
  • supporting social, economic and cultural outcomes for Aboriginal people, businesses, and communities
