Halloween house for kids is on again this year!

By Stuart Kavanagh

Owners of the iconic Silver City Café, Crissy Slattery and husband Adam, have been delighting kids at Christmas time for quite a while now with their sensational Christmas lights display and in recent years they’ve added a Haunted Maze to their repertoire to celebrate Halloween.

The couple have been adding to the maze every year, and now in their third year they plan for it to be bigger than ever!

“It takes about six months of planning,” Crissy told the Barrier Truth. “We started with a shed [in their first year], added a gazebo last year, and we plan to go really big this year.”

In a call to action to the community, via Facebook, Crissy is hoping to get kids, “off their phones and iPads and using their hands and brains”.

They can do exactly that by making their own handmade Halloween decorations and bringing them in to the Silver City Café by October 21 so they can be displayed in this year’s Halloween Maze.

“There will be prizes,” Crissy says, so that should get the nippers interested.
