In the same vein as Movember, September is Mullets for Mental Health.
The campaign, run by the Black Dog Institute, has raised almost a quarter of a million dollars already. It aims to raise awareness regarding suicide rates in young males, the leading cause of death for that demographic.
Broken Hill local Adrian Locke is playing his part with a flowing mullet he has been cultivating for years and it’s now earning money for Black Dog.
Whether it is a camaro crash helmet, a neck-warmer, a tennessee waterfall, a larmoose, a blingback or a mombover – do like Adrian Locke and grow it out for September to raise awareness for mental health.
