Foundation Welcomes Miranda to Board

Foundation Broken Hill has welcomed Broken Hill identity Peter Miranda to its Board.

The Foundation’s core function to is help our region create sustainable alternative businesses to replace mining industry jobs as ore bodies are progressively exhausted.

The Foundation Board is host to a set of highly skilled people with diverse expertise, who give their time voluntarily for community benefit.

Mr Miranda’s expertise is well known to many in the community, having spent over 25 years on the administration side of the health sector, both within government and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

He was, for an extended period, the General Manager Corporate Services for the RFDS South Eastern Section which includes Broken Hill, concluding, when he retired last year.

Before retiring, Mr Miranda was responsible for the planning and management of the region’s COVID-19 vaccination program.

He was a long-term active member of Apex and feels joining the Board would offer further opportunities to give back to his community, utilising the skills, experience and expertise he developed over the course of his career.

His formal appointment will be made at foundations Annual General Meeting next month.
