Dr Hill sets off as Military Museum ramps up

The newly set-up Broken Hill Military Museum Inc gave Dr Peter Hill one hell of a send off on Wednesday as he started on his latest walk – this time to Tibooburra – raising funds for the Broken Hill Military Museum.

Dr Hill left from the RSL on Argent St with his trusty Milo tin, hoping to raise funds for the newly incorporated museum.

The museum has now been set-up as a separate entity to the Broken Hill RSL to ensure all donated personal and military items donated by locals who have served, and their families, will remain in town.

For now, the collection will stay at the current RSL sub-branch office at 590 Argent St, with the newly formed museum’s committee working hard to find a new home for the collection.

Anyone wishing to donate or loan items to the museum should contact Bill Keenan or Des Kennedy. Any cash donations towards the new entity should be directed toward Belinda Westley, alternatively email [email protected]

To become a paid-up member of the museum, you can request a membership form at the above email address. Membership costs $10.
