Delay road travel as there are many road closures, including Broken Hill to Menindee.

Visiting caravanners need to be aware that flash flooding of dry creek beds can occur in seconds.

Also between Wilcannia and Ivanhoe in Central Darling Shire, a number of roads are already closed and the majority of roads in the shire could be closed at some stage this week, if the predicted rainfall eventuates.

Approximately 90 per cent of the Central Darling Shire’s roads are unsealed and the current volume of tourist traffic in the area is creating extra pressure on the unsealed road network.

To assist in preventing damage to unsealed roads, drivers are asked to choose an alternative route or delay their journeys until conditions improve.
