COVID-19 testing centre now closed Saturdays

The COVID-19 testing clinic at the Broken Hill Community Health Centre will now only be open six days a week, down from seven.

Far West Local Health District says the decision has been taken because of a decline in demand on Saturdays.

The new hours for the Drive-Thru testing facility will now be Sunday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm, but the FWLHD points out if demand increases, they will look at the opening hours again.

Access to the testing clinic is via Crystal Lane, with the exit strictly on to Crystal Street only.

“The Centre thanks patients in advance for exercising patience as they wait to be tested,” said a spokesperson.

They also encourage people to explore other options such as Rapid Antigen tests (RATs) rather than the drive-thru PCR service, if they prefer.

You can obtain RATs at several outlets across town.

At the first sign of any flu-like symptoms, you are urged to get a COVID test, either a PCR or RAT, immediately.

Head to nsw.gov.au for information on the closest COVID testing facility to your location.
